Over 1,000 people passed through Horton over the weekend, braving the gloom on Saturday but enjoying some sun on the Sunday. Big crowds gathered to watch the Horton Pro’s version of the Masters over 5 holes. An incredible performance by Paul Dorelli in the Sunday game saw him birdie 3 of the 5 holes. The Pro’s were very popular with the crowds, with many taking the chance to book lessons for themselves and their friends. Head Pro John Terrell commented ‘We’ve had a lot more requests this week for golfers wanting to understand more about how to hook and slice a ball, undoubtedly due to the ‘trick’ shot Bubba Watson pulled off to win the Masters on Sunday.’
The kids who came along had a great time, especially those who took part in the trick shot demonstration, trying to out-drive golf Pro Jeremy Dale who was only using his putter to hit the ball over 200 yards! Jeremy did a fantastic show, hitting golf balls off 5 foot high tees and playing left and right handed. He even got the pro shop manager from Horton, Trevor on his knees hitting shots!
